Admiring Lega art

The unique ethnic wealth of Congo (DRC) offers an astounding cultural diversity, source of artistic creation. Located in the central-eastern part of the country, the Lega people are renowned by the personality and fineness of their artworks, which evoke a spiritual fusion with the imposing nature of the rainforest. All available materials (wood, bones, ivory, fibers…), are used to add the inmaterial dimension to a wide variety of objects. The Lega art, due to its unique sensitivity, has exerted a strong fascination in all interested in ethnic art.
